Psalm 61 : 2.

Psalm 61:2

Each week I pick a Bible verse that I either find on Pinterest, read, or heard about from someone. Every now and then I pick a quote, but for now it's just Bible verses.

September Sunset.

If you don't think this sunset is beautiful, you're crazy. I know, the picture quality isn't the greatest. But lucky enough for me, this was taken right outside my house.
And I get to see almost every night in early September. I love it. :)

Snickerdoodles.

{recipe from here}

I made these for the small Labor Day get together we had yesterday and they were gone pretty quickly!

It was very easy for me to make these, and they turned out really well.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I definitely did!

Cool Pinterest Finds.

Send a picture of your dog and they'll make you a stuffed one.
If you send a picture of your dog, they'll make it into a toy! I want one already.

cell phone case, nice!

Plug your iPod into the egg. Then the duck plays your music in the shower wirelessly (and it's waterproof).

Book Review : Just Listen.

Book Title : Just Listen
Author : Sarah Dessen
Chapters & Pages : 20 chapters; 371 pages

What It's About {from back of book}: Annabel Greene is the girl who has everything. At least, that's what she portrays in her modeling shoots. But Annabel's life is far from perfect. Her friendship with Sophie ended bitterly, and her older sister's eating disorder is weighing down the entire family. Isolated and ostracized at school and at home, Annabel retreats into silent acceptance. Then she meets Owen - intense, music-obsessed, and determined to always tell the truth. And with his guidance, Annabel learns to just listen to herself and gains the courage to speak honestly.

Why I Read It : I have loved every other Sarah Dessen book I've read!

I loved it, just like all her other books. Every book is very different in its own ways, and I love that. I won't go into to much detail, because I think that ruins the book. ;) But it was great and I would recommend reading it!

Day Trip.

So, this is late too.
But on Tuesday, my family and I took a day trip.
The first place we went was the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Factory. He's the guy that invented the first ever hard pretzel.
You might think the pretzel is upside down. But pretzels were first created as gifts to children when they learned their prayers (the pretzel shape looks like arms folded). The three holes in the pretzel represent God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

(Please ignore bad iPhone picture quality.)
The other place we went to was the Turkey Hill Experience. You can virtually create your own flavor of ice cream!
I had a good time at both places and it was a nice day. Since we finished early, the five of us went to the Park City Mall. Let me just say it's huge! We found an Apple store, and I went into my first Pandora charm store.  Needless to say, I got new charms for my bracelet. :)

Golf.

So, maybe this is a little late........sorry.
On Monday night I went golfing with my dad and my grandparents! I had an amazing time!
My dad is playing in a tournament through his work on Friday and wanted some practice. I like the game and since I finally had no other plans, I went along to get some practice myself. It's a hard game to learn.
Hopefully I'll get some more practice in next week with my pap. :)

Banana Pudding Poke Cake

So, on Pinterest I found this recipe.
(Click here to see the original blog post.)

Banana Pudding Poke Cake: Ingredients: 1 (10 oz.) box yellow cake mix, ingredients needed to make cake (eggs, oil & water, 2 (3.4 oz.) packages instant banana pudding, 4 cups milk, 1 (8 oz.) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed, 20 vanilla wafers, crushed.

And tonight, I made it.
It went pretty well. The directions were clear and I though it was really easy.
I'm just glad I finally did something I pinned on Pinterest. :)
Recipe :

Need :
1 vanilla box cake (and ingredients needed for the cake - eggs, oil, water)
2 (3.4 oz) packages instant banana pudding
4 cups of milk
1 (8 oz) container whipped topping
20 vanilla wafers (roughly)

Directions :
1. Bake the cake following all the directions in a 9x13 cake pan.
2. Let the cake cool for a couple minutes. Then use a wooden spoon handle to poke holes throughout the cake.
3. Whisk together the pudding and 4 cups of milk. Make sure there are no lumps.
4. Pour the pudding over cake; try to get it into the holes as much as possible.
5. Put it into the fridge to let the pudding set.
6. Once the cake has cooled, spread the whipped cream on top of the pudding and cake.
6. Crush the vanilla wafers, and sprinkle on top of the cake. Serve with fresh banana slices. :)

Here's how mine turned out :

I'm going to try it tomorrow, since the recipe said it gets better over night.
